"A Link in the Golden Chain."
I titled it “A Link in the Golden Chain” because of the diverse range of early 20th century personalities drawn together by their connection to Vyvyan Deacon: Aleister Crowley, Krishnamurti, Annie Besant, Charles W Leadbeater, James Ingall Wedgwood, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Norman Lindsay, Robert Browning, W B Yeats, Oscar Wilde and Sister Veni-Cooper Mathieson. Please buy a copy and follow the story. This is part of an ongoing series I am writing for New Dawn on Australia’s forgotten esoteric legacy. Past articles have centered around The Manor in Sydney and The Abbey in Brisbane (Vyvyan also had a base called The Abbey in Melbourne at one stage). There was an enormous surge in metaphysical and alternative spiritual pursuits a century ago. There will be at least two more interesting historical characters that I will investigate in 2017.
